Spring and Summer
Multiple Dates
The National Bell Festival is pleased to join forces with Ward 8 Woods, Potomac Riverkeeper Network, Potomac Conservancy, Casey Trees, and Community Forklift to cull trash from area green spaces and waterways. All are invited to lend a hand in helping us clean Washington, D.C. parklands and rivers of man-made debris.
Across multiple dates this spring and summer, we’ll head into the woods and waters to pick up trash, discarded bottles, dumped tires, and materials foreign to the natural environment. Even better? We’re upcycling! The National Bell Festival is commissioning a new bell to be cast with the metals we find on these excursions, particularly copper, tin, and alloys like bronze or brass.
The bell will then be installed for community benefit. We’re turning trash into treasure – come join us!
Dates to be announced soon. Advanced registration is encouraged. Please wear comfortable attire that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Sturdy shoes and gloves are recommended.
