This year, as part of our commitment to keeping you safe, we are featuring activities that allow you to celebrate the New Year and join in the ringing with the National Bell Festival at home or almost anywhere! Explore our complete guide to having one bell of a good time.
To say 2020 has been challenging for families and organizations is a bold understatement. Across the country, people are adapting to the new normal of Zoom calls, teleworking, mask wearing, and social distancing. While it’s both right and fitting that we should follow these measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, we nonetheless lament the ability to come together in person to ring in the New Year.
So, we got creative! And we’re inviting you to dial up the creativity, too. We’ve curated a selection of family-friendly crafts and activities that are suitable for all ages and interests. Ring a bell, start a craft project, read a poem, visit your local bell tower…there are so many ways to have some fun! Each of these can be started at your home or office with supplies you likely already have on hand. You can:
- Build a Popsicle Bell Tower
- Color a Bell
- Go on a Bell Scavenger Hunt
- Create a Bell
- Learn about the Different Parts of a Bell
- Read “The Bells” by Edgar Allan Poe
- Make a Bell Necklace
- Play Bell Tower Bingo
Just don’t forget to share your successes with us! We’d love to see how you celebrated the New Year on your own or with your family. Tag #BellFest in your posts and join in the conversation with @BellFestival on your favorite social platforms!
